A Home from Home

The Purcell School is an informal and welcoming place, with a strong sense of community and a determination to provide students with the best possible environment for both work and home life.

The School offers flexible solutions to meet the needs of different families in terms of full or weekly boarding, and, whether attending as a boarding or day student, all students are assigned to one of the School’s four boarding houses for pastoral support and to provide a social base.

The house parents and other residential staff live onsite, often with their own families, and are on hand at all times to offer advice and support to students. We have a dedicated onsite nurse who is available daily and, once a week, students have access to an onsite physiotherapist and counsellor. The Head of Learning Support, Designated Safeguarding Person, Deputy Head (Students) and Head of PSHE complete the Welfare team.
