Purcell Cellist Triumphs in RSO Competition

On Sunday 10th March, Year 8 cellist Siyue took part in the Young Musicians’ Competition organised by Reading Symphony Orchestra (RSO). Siyue played the Elégie by Rachmaninov and Tarantella by Popper, and we were delighted to hear that she was awarded the Joy Day Cup. Congratulations, Siyue.


 

Purcell Cellist Wins at World Classical Music Awards

It was wonderful to hear earlier this week that Year 11 cellist Teresa had been awarded the Golden Prize at the World Classical Music Awards Competition which took place online in London. Teresa played Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No.1 1st movement and, in addition, received a special prize for ‘Unique Interpretation’. Congratulations, Teresa.
