Welcome to the latest edition of Purcell’s Weekly Highlights!

Ealing Festival

We were thrilled to hear that Year 12 pianist Benji was awarded the overall winner of the open piano concerto competition at this year’s Ealing Festival. Benji studies at Purcell under Caterina Grewe. Congratulations, Benji!

Benji has also been invited by the London Firebird Orchestra to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No 19 on 1st June at 7.30pm in the Parish Church of St George, Hanover Square, Mayfair. Tickets are available on the door.

London Schools Symphony Orchestra (LSSO)

Congratulations to all of the Purcell students who played key roles in a fantastic concert at the Barbican on Wednesday 25th May 2022 with the LSSO. Special mention should be made of year 12 violinist Christine who was co-leader, Mina in year 11 who played principal viola, and year 13’s Bertie who was principal trombone. They made all at Purcell very proud.
