Association of Young Musicians Robinson Award

Year 10 french horn player Alex has been awarded the Association of Young Musicians Robinson Award. The endowment will support him in the National Youth French Horn Ensemble this year. It is wonderful news. Congratulations, Alex.
 

Royal Academy of Music Piano Prize

We were thrilled to hear that last Saturday Year 12 pianist Thomas won the Senior Category in the Royal Academy of Music (RAM) Piano Prize. Thomas studies under Tatiana Sarkissova.
 

Chesham Arts Festival

Year 11 composer and pianist Edward received an Honours certificate, became the class winner and winner of the Composition Trophy at this year’s Chesham Arts Festival, judged by Timothy Bowers. The awards were for his work Fugue for String Trio. Congratulations, Edward.
 

News from the Art Studio

It has been a fantastic week in Purcell’s Art Department with the installation of new artwork in the school and some exciting student news to share.

Bertie (Year 13) has won a place on the very prestigious Stone Carving course run by the Creative Dimension Trust. The course will take place in the Building Crafts College, London. Well done, Bertie!

Melody (Year 10) has also won a highly sought after place to attend an Etching workshop run by the Creative Dimension Trust at the City & Guilds of London Art School. Congratulations, Melody!

A massive thank you must also be made to our Year 10 artists for their fantastic Yayoi Kusama inspired collaboration which is now positioned as a celebration at the end of the academic corridor for all to enjoy.
