‘Pianisti i Ri – The Young Pianist’ International Piano Competition 2019
Year 11 pianist Herman will perform works by Grieg with the Kosovo Philharmonic, under the baton of Antoine Marguier, in Prishtina at the end of the month. This fantastic opportunity has been afforded to Herman as part of his First Prize win in the 2019 ‘Pianisti i Ri – The Young Pianist’ International Piano Competition.
Our congratulations to Herman. We wish him the very best of luck for this performance.
Video of the Week
Our video highlight of the week is taken from last term’s ‘Be Our Guest’ concert at Watford Colosseum, which saw The Purcell School Symphony Orchestra and Big Band perform a selection of Disney tunes arranged by Practice Supervisor Sam Every to an audience of over 300 local primary school children.
We shared The Circle of Life recording through our social channels just before Christmas but have included it again here because it is simply too good to be missed.
Our second Open Morning of the academic year will take place on Sunday 27th February 2022. We look forward to welcoming prospective students and parents, who will meet staff and students, take in the campus facilities and enjoy the outstanding music-making that characterises the School.
Amongst the many regular aspects of the morning, we will also continue to launch Audio Production as a new first study option for the School. Audio Production is open to students entering Year 12, who have a supporting instrument to Grade 5 standard, only.
Please feel free to share news of the Open Morning, and complete the Registration Form here if you would like to attend.
