DJESSE VOL. 2

Former Purcell student and renowned musician Jacob Collier is set release his third album ‘Djesse (Vol. 2)’ on July 19th! On May 21st, a crowd of well-dressed music heavy hitters converged to celebrate the ambitious release of Quincy Jones’s protégé Jacob Collier’s Djesse (Vol.2). Collier’s 18 month creative apex yield 4 albums the first 3 of which were showcase in these spaces including his lush orchestral driven album Djesse (Vol.1) in the garden, and intimate acoustic Djesse (Vol.2) in the brutalist bathhouse, which was complemented by a mezcal tasting from Madre Mezcal. Finally, the yet to be released Djesse (Vol.3) was showcased in the estates leopard lined play room. #AlumniNews
 

Sync Story: Skoda

Skoda’s first campaign with Paloma Faith proved one of the indelible musical partnerships of 2018, winning a Music Week Award and Sync Award in the process. The sync also secured a hit for Faith with the cover of Make Your Own Kind Of Music. Now, the Czech car company hooks up with the RCA artist once again, this time with former Purcellian Alexis Ffrench, The Kingdom Choir, The Sherlocks and Lady Leshurr in tow. I Gotta Be Me features interpretations of the titular Sammy Davis Jr song from all five acts, and comes with a music video and behind the scenes film alongside the main ad. #AlumniNews
 

 

Lower School Soloists

Earlier this week our Lower School Soloists took to St Mary’s Church in Watford for stunning performances of Mendelssohn Rondo Capriccioso Op.14, Kramer Dedication to Peterson (Etude), Rachmaninoff Elegie No.1 Op.3 for piano; Cardoso Milonga and Dyens Tango en skai for guitar; Popper Polonaise de Concert Op.14 for cello. #StudentNews
