We were sad to hear that former Purcell housemaster and Physical Education teacher Tony Duncan passed away in Australia on 30th October following a long battle with cancer.
With his wife Carol, Tony ran Sunridge boarding house in the 1980s when the School was in Harrow. He is fondly remembered as a caring, gentle man who touched many lives. His teaching, guidance and wisdom were an endless inspiration to many Purcellians.
After leaving The Purcell School, Tony established Bancroft’s Prep School before becoming Head of the Junior School at Ely Cathedral until his retirement. A memorial service will be held at Ely Cathedral at a later date.
