Russian pianist Dmitri Alexeev is one of the world’s most highly regarded artists, and we were thrilled that he returned to The Purcell School this weekend to teach and perform at the Piano Department Course.
Referred to as one of ‘the most remarkable pianists of the day’ (Daily Telegraph), Dmitri Alexeev has enjoyed a top-level international career. He is critically praised for his recitals on the world’s leading concert stages and is renowned for sensational concert appearances with the most prestigious orchestras.
Dmitri Alexeev gave invaluable classes on the Schumann piano works – Kinderszenen Op. 15, Bunte Blätter Op.99 and Fantasiestücke Op.12 – to all Year 9-13 piano students in preparation for the Piano Department Concert next week.
The Schumnann – Works for Piano Concert will take place on Tuesday 21st March at 7:00pm in the Constance Pilkington Hall at The Purcell School. Admission is free, and all visitors would be most welcome.
