​On Saturday 12 November, Year 8 pupil, Tristan Vermeulen achieved the outstanding mark of 90, and won joint 1st place at the West London Pianoforte Competition in the Versatility Class for ages 12 & under. Tristan played Für Elise on the piano, which the adjudicator Alan MacLean commented was “just the way Beethoven would want it to be played”, and Phoenix Tail Bamboo under Moonlit on the Hulusi (a traditional Chinese woodwind instrument).
