The Purcell Piano Department spent the weekend in Glasgow, performing three concerts alongside students from the Royal Conservatiore, in a programme of music from Prokofiev‘s Ballets: Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, and The Love for Three Oranges and Szymanowski‘s Mazurkas.  They will be repeating this programme at School on Tuesday 22 March and again at the Fazioli Concert Hall in Sacile, Italy on Thursday 24 March.

Head of Keyboard, William Fong writes:

“An inspiring weekend at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) Piano Festival was characterised by the diverse and exciting programming of all the concerts.  We had our three shared concerts, we heard the Brodsky Quartet with Jonathan Plowright, innovative multiple pianos, a view of Alice Sommer‘s life……

That was the musical bit! We did lots of walking, had a great meal with the RCS in Chinatown, did a bit of impromptu breakfast making and enjoyed the amazing hospitality of the RCS.  Thank you to all of you lovely and fab musicians in Glasgow!”
