Purcell pupil, Samuel Every is through to the finals of Young Drummer of the Year 2015. Ten finalists were chosen from 358 entrants.
This national competition started in 2002 and is sponsored by Yamaha and Sabian. The final is on Sunday February 1st 2015 at the Royal Spa Theatre in Leamington Spa.
Past winners have made numerous TV and radio appearances, as well as support slots for the like of Billy Ward and Thomas Lang, Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez and Stanton Moore and every winner traditionally opens the Drummer Live show in London.
Sam has been at The Purcell School since 2012 on a Government Music and Dance Scheme Scholarship. He is taught Jazz Percussion by Darren Altman.
