This week brought more good news for The Purcell School, when the GCSE results arrived. The 19 students in Year 11 achieved a total of 50 A* grades and 43 A grades, meaning that 65% of all their exams were graded A* or A. This is an increase of 12% from last year’s results, and the best GCSE grades since 2007.

Two students gained 8 A* grades, one 7 A*s, and one secured 6 A*s. The full results can be found here.

Places at the Purcell School are awarded on musical ability, not on academic achievement, and this is therefore a particularly fine set of results.
