Chris Harbour Director of Development

Chris trained and worked as a broadcast journalist after studying Multi-Media Journalism at Bournemouth University. He started his career on the news desk at several radio stations for Global Media, mainly in the East of England. At the same time, Chris supported UK Transplant with their promotional material for organ donations and it was through this that he began working in the Third Sector.

Chris began his fundraising career at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, working across all income streams including community, corporate and most significantly, challenge events. After various positions in the organisation, Chris moved into the education sector working as the Alumni Relations and Development Manager at St Albans School for eight years. During this time, his focus was on raising bursary funds and working on the Unlocking Potential Campaign.

Joining The Purcell School in 2022, Chris runs the Development Office and supports the organisation’s fundraising activity. His role includes working with donors, trusts and foundations to support the School’s bursary and scholarship programme, as well as various capital projects and musical activity within the School.

Chris has a passion for music and in his own time, enjoys listening and playing as a (very) amateur musician. He also enjoys travelling, reading and watching rugby.
