Music Study in the Sixth Form

Music remains at the heart of every student’s experience at The Purcell School.

Sixth Form students study A Level Music, which includes analysis, harmony, composition and music history, alongside intensive first-study development in instrumental performance, voice, composition or music production, supported by ensemble work, collaboration and regular opportunities to perform or present original work.

Students benefit from:

  • Individual teaching in instrumental performance, voice, composition or music production
  • chamber music and ensemble opportunities
  • masterclasses with leading artists
  • regular performance opportunities
  • preparation for conservatoire entrance auditions
