Purcell Brass Experience

Inspiring the Next Generation of Young Brass Musicians!

The Purcell School is proud to introduce the Purcell Brass Experience – a vibrant new programme created to support, encourage and develop young brass players from across the UK. Held once a term at our School in Bushey, Hertfordshire, the Purcell Brass Experience offers high-quality musical training in an energising and supportive environment.

Who is it for?

The Purcell Brass Experience is open to young musicians:

  • Years 5 to 12
  • Playing at Grade 3 to 8+
  • Who play Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Tuba, Cornet, Flugelhorn, Tenor Horn, Baritone Horn and Euphonium

What to Expect

Each termly session of the Purcell Brass Experience includes:

  • Ensemble coaching led by specialist tutors – Antony Cross (Trumpet/Cornet/Flugelhorn), Tim Ellis (Horn), Ruth Mollins (Trombone), Mike Cavanagh (Baritone, Euphonium, Tenor Horn) and Mike Poyser (Tuba)
  • Masterclasses with The Purcell School’s brass faculty and guest artists
  • Performance workshops designed to build confidence and musicality
  • A supportive and inspiring environment where young musicians can grow, learn and connect

Our programme combines technical development, musical expression and collaborative playing, giving participants a taste of The Purcell School’s musical life.

Cost

The Purcell Brass Experience is free of charge.

11–12 December 2025, 10am – 10am
