Sue Baillie

Sue Baillie joined Woldingham from Queen Margaret’s School for Girls, a day and boarding school, which, under Mrs Baillie’s leadership, won Small Independent School of the Year in 2023. Before moving to Queen Margaret’s in 2019, Sue was Pastoral Director at the Royal Grammar School, Newcastle. Sue attended school in Essex and studied history at the University of Leicester before undertaking teacher training at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge.

Sue has had a lifelong involvement in music as a choral singer and oboist. She has a particular interest in Early music and the Baroque period, having achieved Grade 8 in the recorder at the age of 12 and continuing to play in ensembles until relatively recently. Her musical ambitions are modest, although she harbours a secret desire to learn to play the harp.
