This summer, The Purcell School is delighted to host the International Young Musicians Academy (IYMA) Summer Music Course, taking place 13–17 July 2026 on our campus in Bushey.
The course will bring together talented young musicians for an intensive week of chamber music, coaching and performance with an exceptional international faculty. Organised by the International Young Musicians Academy, the programme offers students the opportunity to work closely with leading performers and professors from major conservatoires and music institutions.
Faculty
Participants will receive coaching from an outstanding team of artists and educators, including:
Piano
- Jeremy Young – Head of Piano Chamber Music and Senior Professor of Piano at the Royal Northern College of Music; Artistic Director of IYMA
- Kathryn Stott – Senior Professor of Piano at the Royal Northern College of Music; international performing artist
- Richard Uttley – Professor of Piano at the Royal College of Music; international performing artist
- Nicola Eimer – Professor of Ensemble Piano at the Royal Academy of Music
Cello
- Hannah Roberts – Jacqueline du Pré Professor of Cello at the Royal Academy of Music and Senior Professor of Cello at the Royal Northern College of Music
- Leandro Silvera – Head of Strings and Chamber Music at Eton College and chamber music tutor at the Junior Royal College of Music
- Jospehine Knight – Alfredo Piatti Chair of Cello at the Royal Academy of Music
Violin
- Alex Redington – Head of Strings at The Purcell School and Professor of Chamber Music at the Royal Academy of Music
- Nathaniel Vallois – Professor of Violin at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and chamber music teacher at The Purcell School

About the Course
Throughout the week, participants will work intensively in chamber ensembles, receive expert coaching and take part in masterclasses and performance opportunities. The course provides a stimulating environment for young musicians to develop their artistry while collaborating with like-minded peers from around the world.
Held at The Purcell School’s specialist music facilities, students will benefit from dedicated practice rooms, performance spaces and a campus designed to support high-level musical training.
