A Message from His Majesty King Charles III

We are deeply honoured to share a special message from His Majesty King Charles III, Royal Patron of The Purcell School, warmly acknowledging our 24-hour Giving Day concert and the dedication of our performers.

“Please convey my warmest thanks to the Students, Staff and Guests of The Purcell School for their kind message, sent on the occasion of their twenty-four-hour concert which is being held today.

As your Patron, I was truly touched to be reminded of the dedicated work that you do to celebrate and encourage the musical abilities of young people. In return, I send my warmest good wishes to all those who are present for a most memorable event.”

We are incredibly grateful for His Majesty’s support and encouragement.

What is a Giving Day?

The Purcell School Giving Day is a 24-hour celebration of community, music and giving. Taking place on 11th and 12th December 2025, this special event invites our entire school community – students, staff, parents, alumni and supporters – to come together in support of The Purcell School Bursary Fund.

At the heart of the Giving Day is a 24-hour concert with performances by students from all year groups. Musicians from all departments, from Strings to Jazz, will perform classical, commercial, chamber music and everything in between, continuously for 24 hours. We will also have additional activities on the day involving our academic departments.

Why?

Our mission is simple but transformational. To raise as much as possible to support students with access to a world-class musical education. Fundraising helps us provide essential training for our remarkable young musicians and provides support for families in financial need.

The overall aim is not just to raise vital funds, but to create a culture of philanthropy within the School and highlight the importance of the School’s Bursary Fund.

When & Where?

Date: Thursday 11th – Friday 12th December 2025
Time: 10am – 10am
Location: The Purcell School. The 24 Hour concert can only be viewed online. A livestream will be available here to watch the 24-hour concert.

How Can You Help?

There are many ways to get involved in Giving Day! Whether you take part in our matched-giving challenges, share our posts on social media or make a donation to support our students’ fundraising, we’d love for you to be part of it.

We’re also keen to partner with businesses, organisations and individuals to make this year’s Giving Day an even greater success. If you, your company or the company you work for would be interested in sponsoring the event, we’d love to hear from you.
