In early July, Lower Sixth pupil, Rachele Howes took part in a concert in Twickenham in support of The Mulberry Centre, a local cancer charity.  She performed works by Haydn, Poulenc, Chopin and John Marlow Rhys in a recital lasting 35 minutes.  The second half of the concert was given by The Richmond Music Trust Youth Orchestra.  The concert took place at the recently-built theatre at The Mall School, Twickenham.

In the words of Vince Cable, who was present at the concert, Rachele is “a remarkable young pianist who had the audience enthralled”.

David Meggitt, Trustee and Treasurer at The Mulberry Centre expressed grateful thanks to Rachele, commenting that she “performed with a poise that completely belied the fact that this was her first concert in front of a public audience containing a large number of people that she didn’t know”.
