Extra-Curricular Clubs

Physical Wellbeing

The Purcell School offers a full schedule of PE extra-curricular activities throughout the school week and during the week day evenings. Physical wellbeing activities include multi-sport, open gym, badminton, yoga, basketball, football, crossfit, pilates, running club, pickleball, netball and dance.

Regular exercise can really boost a student’s musical skills by strengthening muscles and improving posture, which allows a musician to play comfortably for longer periods. It also makes breathing more efficient, which is incredibly helpful for wind instrument players and singers. Staying fit reduces the risk of injury, allowing students to practise and perform without setbacks. Plus, exercise sharpens thinking and improves coordination, making it easier to tackle challenging pieces and techniques. The endorphins from working out can inspire music-making, and the stress relief helps young musicians stay focused and calm during performances.

Purcell Giving Day

11–12 December 2025, 10am – 10am

The final note has sounded, and our first Giving Day has officially come to a close.

We are thrilled to share that together we have raised £40,435 for the Bursary Fund.

To everyone who tuned in, donated, encouraged our performers or helped spread the word — thank you. You have made a genuine difference to the lives of young musicians.

If you would still like to contribute, the Giving Day site remains open here.
