His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales has renewed his Patronage of The Purcell School for a further five years, until 2018. The School has enjoyed his Patronage since 1985.
David Thomas, Headmaster comments “We are absolutely thrilled that The Prince of Wales will continue as Patron of The Purcell School. His support has been invaluable to the school’s mission of providing a world class musical education, and will continue to be so as we enter our second half-century.”
Eight Purcell pupils have recently returned from The Commonwealth Resounds! music festival in Sri Lanka, where they performed at a special Royal Dinner for the Commonwealth Heads of Government, hosted by His Royal Highness. The School also provides music for Investiture ceremonies at Buckingham Palace on occasion.
