Upper Sixth pupil, Bocheng Wang has been awarded Second Prize in The Liszt Society Piano Prize 2015.  This competition was part of The Liszt Society’s Annual Day, which took place at Goldsmiths College, University of London, on Saturday 21st November 2015.  

The competition was open to pianists of all ages and nationalities and of the ten finalists, Bocheng was the youngest competitor.  As part of his prize, Bocheng will be offered a short recital tour in the North of England courtesy of Master Musicians.
 
Bocheng  joined The Purcell School in 2012, where is taught piano by Christopher Elton.  He also studies at The Royal Academy of Music Junior Department.  His competition credits include Third Prize at The 2012 Young Pianist of the North International Piano Competition, First Prize in The Royal Academy of Music’s 2015 Iris Dyer Piano Competition, First Prize at Croydon Concerto Competition 2015.  He was also a finalist in the senior category of Etelingen International Piano Competition 2014. 

Bocheng’s studies at The Purcell School are supported via the school’s Scholarship Fund by The Samuel Gardner Memorial Trust.
