Music Technology students returned after the Christmas break to a newly upgraded music technology area. Students now have access to the latest versions of Apple Logic Pro X, Avid Tools 12 and Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac, giving them the chance to develop the skills that are expected in studios across the world.

‘The recording studios have new Universal Audio Apollo interfaces and access to a host of industry standard plugins’ said Head of Music Technology, Mr Goetzee, ‘such as Native Instruments Komplete, Audio Ease Altiverb and Celemony Melodyne’. One pupil commented that the upgrade is ‘making it easier to translate the skills we are learning here into a professional environment as we do it all ourselves with this industry standard tech.’

Mr Goetzee writes: ‘I am delighted that the school has been able to invest in my department. Pupils have adapted to the changes with impressive ease and with little or no interruptions to their course work and creative projects. I am very grateful to Simon Kingsbury, our ICT Network Manager, and Tom Bell, our Technology Technician, who project managed the upgrade.’
