How to applyEntry to the school is by audition, interview, short academic test, and report from the applicant's previous school.
If you would like to apply for an audition, please download and complete the Application Form and the Ethnic Origin & Disability Monitoring Form, both of which you will find on the right. You will also need to send a written recommendation from your child's instrument teacher(s), a DVD of a recent performance (for overseas candidates) and the application fee of £25. Cheques should be made payable to "The Purcell School". Please note:
Please take a moment to look at our Frequently Asked Questions. The school welcomes applications from any prospective pupil with a disability or special educational need. The school’s policy is to apply the criteria stated in our Admissions Policy to all pupils and potential pupils regardless of any disability or special educational need of which it is aware, and not to put any disabled pupil or potential pupil at a substantial disadvantage compared to any pupil who is not disadvantaged because of a disability. All applications will be judged fairly and the school will consider any reasonable adjustments that may need to be made to cater for the child’s disabilities. Please see the full Admissions Policy for further details. For all candidates, the school must be satisfied that it will be able to educate the applicant to the best of his or her potential and in line with the general standards achieved by the pupil's peers, and that these criteria will continue to be met throughout the pupil's time at the School. If you have any further queries or you would like us to send you a prospectus, please contact the Registrar.
