Buildings Fund

The New Music Centre and boarding houses
The school has been fortunate to have received significant funding from the Department for Education over the years, providing much of the capital required for our Building programme, but the school has ambitious plans for future development which are unlikely to be met by government funding.
The opening of the state of the art New Music Centre by School patron Sir Simon Rattle in 2007 saw the completion of the first stage of our goal to provide world class teaching and performance facilities. The New Music Centre has transformed the lives of our young musicians and teaching staff and we shall be forever grateful to the many friends and benefactors whose generosity brought the fundraising project to life.
In a similar vein, the ribbon-cutting in January 2011 by immediate past Chairman of Governors Graham Smallbone MBE saw the opening of two new boarding houses that help to ensure no musically gifted child is barred access to the School through lack of suitable boarding accommodation.

Since 2010, we have also refurbished the other two boarding houses, Avison and Sunley. We are now looking further ahead to improve some of the non-musical teaching spaces, such as the sports facilities and Art block.
